Tonn, passed away and reported to Post Everlasting., If any Post member is interested in attending the Merrick Post 1282, American Legion, solemn ceremony for Post Member, John B. Tonn, we are going to meet at N. F. Walker's Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 6:30 pm for a 7:00 pm American Legion ceremony., N. F. John Tonn was a good man! He loved to play cards at poker and he would make you laugh. I remember on Memorial Day, when when the Post had its Merrick Post No. 1282, American Legion parade and ceremony, he would be able to fit into his uniform that he wore when he was in service. John helped the Post in many of its projects. He will be missed.

He served in the US Army from November 22, 1953 to November 12, 1955. He was a Malpractice claims Underwriter in Tarrytown, NY
Beloved husband of Bridget Tonn. Devoted father of Deborah Ann Tonn and the late John Joseph Tonn. Grandfather of Jackie DeRango. Also survived by many loving sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 27 at Cure Of Ars Roman Catholic Church, 2323 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, New York. An American Legion services service will be held on Wedsnesday, December 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at N. F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY. Private cremation to follow.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at N. F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, New York.
