On November 5, 2014, Walter E. Ellensohn passed away and reported to Post Everlasting. Walter Ellensohn was a Merrick Post No. 1282 member and he was the chairman for the Merrick's Veteran Memorial Park. He will be sorely missed.

Retired Carpenter. Ex Chief and Ex Commissioner North Merrick Fire Department.

Separation: February 17, 1948, Ft. Mayer, VA

Visiting at N. F. Walker, Inc. Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Ave. Merrick Thursday from 6-9pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.

Fire Department and American Legion Service Friday evening.

Committal service Saturday the 8th at 10am at the funeral home. Burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn NY.
